Subject: Re: Rebreathers: Screening out the uncertifiable...

Howzit,

I have to admit that looking at the subject with a limited prospective as
this author has i would agree with him totally. but actually this is a
logical step in the training process by the manufacturer.. they have to
start somewhere.. and that is with competent instructors that are already
teaching much of the same physics, physiology and skills. the manufacturers
arent gonna put their units out on the market to be sold directly to divers,
first they will place them with the instructors and allow them to log many
hours of personal experience, going thru training scenerios and such. these
*instructor trainers* are actually being used for market testing and r&d.

a necessity, to start with especially..

Rebreather *instructor trainers* are walking around

.. does this mean that they are out there certifying instructors..
i don't think so, not at this point.. it just means that the manufactures
and distributors have a place to start.. to build their marketing
and training foundations.

 Any sensible person would

you sound like you know alot about rebreathers.. what is your background
in this area..

actually, the units that will make the market first will
not be "complex" at all, in fact, imho, this is the problem.. they need
to be a little more complex to be safer. and all of the "menaces" in
the last drager\uwatec course came out of the program with the knowlege
that we have a long way to go.. but at least we have a start.

Anyone with that little experience who thinks that they

i'll pass your thoughts to bret and rob at tdi and the guys at uwatec,

and we would appreciate your ideas on a better path.. (truely)

hey wait a minute, i resemble that remark, :-) no really, is it fair to
make comments like that not knowing the whole picture..
