Subject: Nitrox o-ring kits for Poseidon Cyclon 300
To: Techdiver <techdiver@terra.net>
Hi All,

After being 'bounced off' the techdiver list some 4 weeks or more
ago...I've finally found my way back.

2 weeks ago I attended an *excellent* IANTD Techdiver Conference at
Swindon in England. Some superb talks

by Billy Deans on deep diving projects and deep diving equipment set-up,

by Richard Nordstron on the Cis-Lunar Mk 4 rebreather,

by John Knight, Oceanic on the Phibian rebreather

`	By 2 speakers from Drager on the new Atlantis nitrox rebreather

by a BSAC speaker on the accepance of nitrox for 'advanced recreational
diving'

by Maurice Cross on deep diving/mixed gas diving physiology

And so on & so on ....

Didn't anyone post a full report of it ?? I checked out the archives &
couldn't see anything in the recent postings.

Anyway...a couple of questions I would like to solve if anyone knows the
answers out there

#1.	I have a Poseidon Cyclon 300 regulator I am now using for staged
nitrox50 deco. Poseidon don't make a O2 service kit for this reg. They only
make one for the two 'top or the range' regulators, the 'Jetstream' and the
'Cyclon 500'. In the USA they have different names, but the Cyclon 300 is the
lower performing 1st stage and the older style 2nd stage with the exhaust
diaphragm at right angles to the mouthpiece rather than at 45 degrees.
It is a mystery to me as to why Poseidon will supply O2 parts
for their highest performing regs, which are most suitable for deeper diving
when nitrox is a shallower water or deco gas. Anyway, one of the USA visitors
said that O2 compatible o-ring/valve seat kits *were* available in the USA from
an independent supplier. Does anyone out there have any more info ??

#2.	Another 'throwaway comment' was that most 'oily' compressors
fitted with a molecular sieve stack and a seperate charcoal filter stack will
almost certainly meet the minimum oil standard needed for partial pressure
mixing of nitrox. Does anyone know how to test the oiliness of the air ??

     Regards, Steve M.
