Steve; I went through the same process with my cyclon 300 a few months ago. There were some useful answers to my questions posted on Techdiver, and perhaps you can access them through the archives. Unfortunatly, I don't have the text on disk, so I can't forward the information to you directly. In summary, this is what I learned: Only the first stage needs to be prepared for O2 use. The second stage is not subjected to O2 pressures thigh enough to give you a problem. O ring "kits" are not available, but the actual O2 compatible (viton) O rings cn easily be obtained. I purchaced some by taking ther original O rings to a gas supply house, and they provided me with the same sized rings in viton. It was pretty inexpensive. The diaphragm in the Cyclon 300, however, is a different story. It isn't a standard piece, like an O ring, and Cyclon does not make an O2 compatible version. Personally, I don't think that it would cause a problem, however there "may" be some risk involved. I learned that US Divers provides a conversion kit for some of their diaphragm first stages. That kit includes viton O rings, Christolube and a new HP seat. Interestingly, it does not include a different diaphragm. So perhaps, the Cyclon 300 diaphragm is not really a concern. By the way, after all was said and done I decided not to prepare my cyclon for O2 use; it has too many soft parts, and I found a simple piston first stage that has less parts to fiddle with. Hope this helps. Andy Cohen ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ #1. I have a Poseidon Cyclon 300 regulator I am now using for staged nitrox50 deco. Poseidon don't make a O2 service kit for this reg.
