Sometimes a user's emailer is set up so that when he calls `Reply', when working out what to put in the new message's To: line, it looks for a From: line and a Sender: line and a Reply-to: line. If then, as sometimes happens, user B receives from user A an email with the sender's name (here A) repeated in the From: line and the Sender: line and the Reply-to: line, the resulting new message's `To' line may contain A's email address 3 times. This frequently happens with me. In my case, I delete the extra name entries out of the To: line before I send the message. Perhaps sometimes people don't delete the extra entries, and thus the message goes out 3 times, unless the (emailer that distributes a copy to each name listed on the message's To: line) is clever enough to weed out duplicates.
