Message Display

Can someone knowledgable please advice me what recourse to take to 
prevent the duplicate or even triplicate messages that are sent out 
by the list?  Or is it the senders that are posting multiple 
messages?  Somehow I doubt it, because the time-stamps on the 
duplicates are identical.  This messages are reaching a bothersome 
volume.
