  I commented on someone writing `contradiction' where `contra-indication' may
have been meant.

  Not necessarily. Using one word in error for a similar word reduces clarity,
and the writer's intention in such a case is <not> necessarily obvious to
readers whose first language is not English. I speak from much experience of
answering computer programming queries for foreign students.
