JT,

Duke Power's website says Lake Jocassee began filling April 1970.

I'm guessing that the Greenville paper would be the best place to start
looking for details on the people who didn't want to leave.  I'll get on
that in a couple of days.

The video is pretty good considering the crappy vis.
