This is understandable and I dare say desirable, but the force that is 
exerted by hand-tightening a plug cannot amount to much.

Are not o-rings visually inspected every time we pick them up.  Remember it 
is also theoretically possible to eat enough bad Mexican food that one 
could flatulate (not really a correct word, but you get to point) hard 
enough to lift off the ground.

Many warm fuzzy feelings are good things.

None where you had looked.  I agree the plastic sucks, but this idea is not 
original to you.  Kudos for the initiative of running with your version of 
it though.

I suppose for most it will come down to cost and availability.  What will 
yours cost us and how long does it take to ship from NZ.
