George, 1 - Sidemounting in sumps 2 - CCRs for 100M+ dives in the ocean. I do neither, you do neither, so the two of us arguing over it would be a wee bit silly. DIR is a very good system and I have learned a lot from JJ's books. I don't believe that it is the only way to dive safely though.
