Subject: Re: George's Scooter Support / WAS - Cheap parts?

Hi Dave:

Your points are well taken.

I have had these scooters for about 10 years. I have had the "cheap" clutch
AND the "expensive" clutch. A good general statement is that the scooters
are indestructable and like everything else in life, you need to use the
correct part or tool for your needs. The whining about the clutch is bull.
It is just more smoke and mirrors. Undoubtedly there will be some form of
"confession" coming soon.

The "cheap" clutch is fine for ocean use. You just have to keep crap away
from the props. Now if one is cave diving where you don't have the luxury
of just going up, or if one is incapable of avoiding fishing line and / or
keeping fingers, regulators and SPG's out of the props, you need to spend
the money on the more expensive clutch.

Better yet, if the problems stems from an inability to stay out of the props
you need to work on fundamental skills. Unfortunately, that just doesn't
sound "cool" and detracts from the big time diver image.

This is argument for the sake of making noise. I have yet to hear one shred
of constructive information out of this guy. All I ever hear is some form
of imagined negativity about someone or something, tales of personal peril
and self aggrandizement. The next thing you know he'll be screaming about
insider trading in clutches.

Regards.

Joe
