Pat, before deciding on a class, I strongly recommend you take a look at all that's available. I've taken classes from a variety of agencies, and none were as thorough and informative as the GUE classes. I highly recommend them. As far as I'm concerned, the classes offered by the other agencies are pretty much a no-fail scenario, so you don't need the test. If you make mistakes, the instructor will take you though it, explain what you did wrong, and you'll pass anyway.
