It appears from his resume that he got into BUD/S and washed out. He did not
state this but its obvious from looking at the timeline.

Nothing wrong with washing out of BUD/S, the attrition rates are very high
and it takes a great deal of courage just to try out for UDT/SEALs. Don't
know if I'd put it on my resume, however.

Terrance came down and did a presentation to our VBTech group and I found
him to be an engaging speaker and a real wreck diving enthusiast. He's the
kind of guy you would not mind being stuck on a dive boat with when the
conditions are less than ideal. I did not get the feeling he was a charlatan
and BS artist like some people I have met in the dive industry.

I got the impression that he is a sharp fellow who is trying to make a
living at doing something he loves. And if anyone can come up with a reason
against doing that, I'd love to hear it.

As far as doing the Fitz is concerned you all seem to think that doing a
dive like this you simply climb on a boat with your doubles and then step
off the boat when you are more or less over the wreck, then come back up.

For you neophytes out there a dive like this takes months of planning,
logistics, negotiations, research and effort. And if you spend a few minutes
with a deco program, go figure out the deco obligations you build up at 500'
and you tell me how much time you would want to spend at that depth, RB or
no RB in that nice, ice-cold water up there. And if you make one mistake you
are one dead MF.

What would be great is if Terrance embraced DIR and applied it's standards
to his Cambrian Foundation, like AUE is attempting to do. The problem with
this is that expeditions require money and, for some reason, many of the
high-profile strokes out there somehow, in spite of their thick-headed
stupidity, have the bucks to put into such things.
