Wash the garment on the gentle cycle in the washing machine using a small 
amount of detergent.  You might consider washing it without detergent a few 
times after the one with detergent.  Dry on low heat.  I usually remove it 
from the dryer before it gets completely dried, and then I allow it to air 
dry the rest of the way.  

I only use detergent on the garments occasionally, most of the time I wash it 
without detergent.
