Oh you poor saps who bought split fins. Unfortunately for you this technology has already been eclipsed by Aries. From "Skin Diver" magazine, the known authority on all things underwater. Yes, the same people who said that split fins were the be-all and end-all of diving: ------------ AERIS Velocity Fin This fin is based on the concept of three "power enhancing vents" cut into the middle of the blade, allowing water to flow through during the kick. When tested, we found that this reduces stress on the legs, while accelerating the flow of water over the blade. The overall result was an increase in the efficiency of each kick and a boost in speed. ------------- I suppose you guys could take some sewing thread and stitch the split back up on your split fins making damn sure you leave open "power enhancing vents" so you can "increase in the efficiency of each kick and a boost in speed." Excuse me while I stand aside so I won't get trampled by you victims of marketing as you stampede to the dive shop to pick up your pair. As the greatest marketer of all time said of suckers; "There's one born every minute".
