The reg is a piece of shit, and only a complete moron would use something
that required 170 psi intermediate pressure. What is it you guys just don't
get about thinking it through and finding real solutions? Why is it none of
you can get the most basic and simple understanding of anything , yet can
muster up endless arguments about why bullshit is a great idea.

You don't need tools to reach the 2nd stage diaphragm on the Cyklon 500
if you remove the retaining ring (which is not truly necessary anyway) and
leave it removed prior to diving. Although, I think most people using
Poseidon regs are diving the Jetstreem/Odin. And you certainly DO need
tools for that IF you were to disassemble.

Manos,
while most of your observations are correct, you may have missed some of
the good reasons why to choose which gear.

The operational flaw of the poseidon regs is that you cannot reach the
2nd stage membrane without tools.
This is an issue when you have to deposit and leave bottles at sites
where silt and dirt entering the reg can create a problem, really not
that much , if at all, on a single dive to a wreck.
A likely flaw of the poseidon jetstream is offbleeding when supply
pressure drops below , say 40 bar. should not be a problem unles you
call for it.

Same goes for the clipping. No silt, dirt, corrosion( hopefully), no
clipping to vital parts which won't come off under stress, probably no
problem . I agree it should be a direktive to be able to loosen any
connection made with means on hand durng the dive, though.

For the stages, do you know the manufacturer, and their bouancy
properties ? For sure ?
There are pretty light steel bottles around here.
Matthias
