A lot of requests here, thanks for your resources and time.
If you haven't figured out by now, I like messing with dive gear and love to
make my own/better than the factory stuff. I've heard several folks say they
know some one who makes their own reels and scooters, etc. Does anyone
have any information on these? I can easily make a reel frame, but can't make
a good spool. Does anyone know where I can get a relatively inexpensive
spool that is suitable for salt water other than Dive Rite. Are there any
plans lying around for a spool, particularly one that has an automatic
tensioner device? I've developed a crude mechanism to do that and help stop
tangling, but thought there should be something better.
Are the any scooter builders out there either? I understand Popular Science
ran an article on making your own a while back...
Are there any scooters with twin, counter-rotating props on the market?
I'm also looking for algorithms for use with Nitrox and Trimix. I don't
know how long I'll have my connection to the net--it's free now and they're
cutting people off here. Please let me know where I can ftp from.
Also, does anyone know if there is an internet address for Rodale's so I
can flame 'em out? Someone said that they got Rodale's with their DAN
membership. Does this mean they are affiliated?
