From: ddrake01 Christina, they are rubber. Depending on your depth, your will find no need to equalize them. The deeper you go, the tighter they get. I have a friend who has them, but hasn't done a lot of diving on them. He is not an agressive diver although he holds upteen billion cards from PADI. I have put off buying them-the rip factor bothers me. Also, the gloves don't connect to your suit. Say you're down over 50 Meters, I'd assume you'd feel a need to equalize. It's easy to squeeze air out, not in. Take a straw and suffer if the seals leak or the get ripped. I'd suggest an outer covering of some kind of elastic and/or tough material. If you dive where there are steel cables and jagged edsges, I'd have some neopreme gloves handy... If anyone has overcome these problems, I'd like to hear about it.
