One of my OW DM's dives a transpack II ( I am working on him, sigh). He's
about 6'4 and 260 lbs. His long hose stays nicely in place while just
around his waist pack, but that could be due in part to his size. If
there's nothing to hold the hose in place, stuffing it into the cummerbund
seems to be a good solution for many and where my extra hose goes if i
should use a 7 ft instead of 5 ft.

Is there a reason you stay with the BC and are not using a backplate? It's
something else that grows on you over time. I love the stability it gives
even a single tank. And I love the new short plate i just got from Abysmal
Diving. It puts the tank(s) closer to my back. I didn't think it would
make that much difference, but it really does.
