Hi Brad, I thought you might some advice as well, so here it is. Why not take the GUE Fundamentals class? It will give you a starting point, and when you graduate from it you'll know what you need to practice. Let your instructor know you are interested in Cave 1, and I'm sure he can tell you what skills to practice before taking that class. Then find other DIR guys in your area and practice the skills.
