Jonas,
    Here's a wake-up call... If they had left the bell it would certainly
disappear into oblivion. Mike has posted to the world that he recovered it,
is probably making sure that it is properly conserved, and will probably
post photos of it to his website (if he hasn't already). I'm sure anyone
with a legitimate interest can examine it all they want just by asking.
Without positive control of a dive site artifacts disappear. How long do you
think the mastodon bones in Wakulla would last if they were in Little River?
Nice thought, but reality is a different world.
