Just to let you know where I'm coming from, it is illegal to loot wrecks here. This weekend I was on a wreck that gets dived much more often than the wreck you guys did. Divers have moved pottery from inside the wreck onto the deck so that everyone could see it. Unfortunately there are still dickheads here. Someone recently removed a littly brass plate from one of the boilers which stated the manufacturer. Currently there is a $1000 reward for anyone providing info that leads to successful prosecution of his sorry ass. Anyway, I have 2 questions: What does "[the artifacts] are currently being conserved" mean? Why does the bell have to be in a private collection for your book/documentary? ss ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael Barnette <aocfishman@ho*.co*> To: <se2schul@st*.ma*.uw*.ca*>; <FLTechDiver@mikey.net>; <vbtech@ci*.co*>; <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2001 1:57 AM Subject: Re: AUE weekend dive report - part two > Hi "SS"- > No, the artifacts will not "rot in a box in a basement."
