What are possible ways to test something like >this? Would you use doppler, or would that not be precise >enough? Does Bruce monitor techdiver? The approach taken in the RGBM is based on the so-called thermodynamic decompression models which attempt to model bubble growth as well as tissue saturation. They generate decompression schedules by trying to keep the bubbles below some specified size. The resulting tables apparently tend to have deeper and shorter stops. I like the approach as it seems intuitively to be a better model for the actual physical processes involved than the Haldanean models. As to testing, I would imagine that if you had a model which predicted the free phase bubble growth, you could correlate it with doppler scores. I believe that this is one of the things Chris Parrett is intending to do in integrating the RGBM into ABYSS. I believe Bruce was working with Scubapro for a while on DC design. I don't know how far that work proceeded. Bruce doesn't follow techdiver as far as I know (looking at his other activities listed in the bio in his books, I am not suprised - he wouldn't have time!)
