Thom, if the water contains active biological contaminants, your best be=
t is to use a dry hood and FFM or a full helmet.  Otherwise, a good prev=
entative measure is to use a solution of 2 parts alcohol, 2 
parts vinegar and 1 part saturated boric acid solution.  Apply a few dro=
ps in one ear, wait five minutes, drain.  Repeat with other ear.  Do thi=
s before and after the dive.

I dive alot in the murky dirty river water near detroit and I seem to ge=
t a reoccuring ear infection. Any hints on trying to overcome this. I us=
e ear dry. I have read of a 
mask that covers your ears but still aloows you to equalize. Has anyone =
tried it or seen an ear plug that does the same?
