Re: DUI C4 fitPeople I have talked to about the tailoring have generally =

As you will see from my accompanying post, DUI is a strange company. =
They mix a high quality construction and design with poor internal Corp =
communications. I get the feeling dealing with them that the left hand =
has no idea what the right hand is doing. As I mentioned DUI told me =
that they have customers go out and get their Thinsulate garments =
tailored all the time.

Before I decided not to buy it, I requisitioned one from my dive =
shop and took it to my tailor; she didn't want to touch it. Something =
about once you start messing with the battens of thinsulate, it's hard =
to get it back in place. Ah, maybe she wasn't a great tailor, and maybe =
you could go to a place that specializes in outdoor gear, but that was =
my experience.

DUI really ought to un-clusterf*** their underwear sizing instead. =
Have you ever looked at their size chart? If you're over 5'1O", you are =
an XL (!), and you'd better have a 42-44" chest and a 42" waist. Have =
they ever heard of tall and skinny, which doesn't seem to me an unusual =
combination?

DUI told me that you can take this garment to your local taylor =
for a nip and tuck without any problems. Removing material is no problem =
but adding is.

My wife and I are looking to buy DUI 400 gm. Thinsulate =
undergarments. However, unlike the drysuits, which they will custom =
fit, the undergarments apparently come in only stock sizes. The stock =
sizes of the undergarments look like they are designed for people who =
are very large around the waist relative to their height. Also, they =
don't have a cut for women. I haven't gotten a response yet on this =
from DUI, but I would like to know which suit measurements you athletic =
and fit folks rely upon to pick the right size undergarment. Also, =
women's suits usually need to be cut differently to fit as well as men's =
suits -- which suit measurements do women most rely upon to get the best =
fit? (We will have to order the undergarments without an opportunity to =
try them on first since the only DUI dealer here doesn't carry stock, =
but only special orders when someone wants something.)

        Thank you,

        Alex
