Take about an 1 ft length of 1" webbing, pass it through the slot and fold it back so that the 2" webbing is sandwiched between the tails of the 1" webbing. Take the pieces to a shop that does industrial sewing such as a sailmaker canvas repair, or parachute repair shop and have them sew the two pieces together in a zig zag cross stitch. I took mine to a local canvas shop and they just did it for free. I just didn't like having a bolt hanging on my crotch strap. This way looks a lot slicker and more professional.
