Brad,

I guess I'm confused. The map I have (from a kayaking
book) has you putting in at Lyons Ferry State Park at
the junction of the Snake and the Palouse rivers and
kayaking up the Palouse River about a mile to a sand
bar on the left that has the Marmes Rock Shelter. The
sand bar "looks" like it creates a small lake (which I
assume are the remnants of the dike they built in the
60's).

The Palouse River runs into the Snake River but I've
heard that this part of the Palouse River is a "lake".
Is the book wrong on this? It's a long as drive for
me and I'd hate to go out there if it was six inch vis
(that'd be totally pointless).

There's a scuba shop in the area that I'll call later
today.
