Don,
I never said a valve is open or it is closed.
The fact that an ISO valve is NOT a throttling
valve is why an "intermediate" position does
not have a big impact on its operation. Also,
this discussion was NEVER what is good for the
valve. It was about the operational ramifications
of how it was operated. Also, I have never
suggested that an isolator SHOULD be partially
opened or closed. I only discussed the impact
of that.

And if it makes you feel better about yourself
to think you "have forgotten more about valves
than I will ever know"... then go ahead.

I will,
David, it is obvious that you don't know very much about valves at all. "A
valve is either open or it is closed."
This is not true. There are many different types of valves. I have been in
the oil and gas industry for 19 years and have forgotten more about valves
than you will ever know.
By its simple design an ISO valve is designed to be either fully open or
fully closed.
IT IS NOT A THROTTLING VALVE.
And could be damaged by being partially open or closed as you suggest. READ
&
STUDY...........VALVES 101
You need to get back to the books and do some more studying and stay off of
the net until you know what you are talking about.

Thank you very much,
Don Stricklin
