Without going into the merits of whether sand blasting is a good idea or not
(I tend to think not), you need to ensure that the people doing the
blasting, regardless of the media used, isolate the media to one metal.
Aviation shops use one set of media for aluminum and another for ferris
metals. This is because the media can pick up minute particles of metal and
deposit them upon impact. Under certain conditions (High O2 and moisture)
this can create dissimilar metal electrolysis (corrosion) to occur. For the
same reason, abrasive brushes should also be dedicated to one metal.
