Subject: DIR: any quick release ... ?

hi  all; I wonder whether any of the senior DIR divers could
comment on the following issues:

- DIR backplate, why that design ...

- are  there  DIR  (aluminum) backplates to buy anywhere in
  Europe ?

and

-  are  there  any ready-to-buy **quick release** straps (of
the  type  Swedish  AGA  had on the backplate of their 2*300
atm*9 lt) for the DIR backplate ? ...
