Manos, people use what they have handy. The world is (fortunately) not only the US (availability of diving gases, industrial infrastructure, etc.). You know that most areas in the world __do not__ have access to neither helium nor trimix. Here (Canary Islands), there is not even nitrox (although we are not cannibals anymore ;-). Most divers will go down to 20-30 mts, some to 50-70 mts and a few even to 100-130 mts **on air**. It is a fact. People use air because it is readily available and, unfortunately, there is _no other choice_. Who can pay 400 USD for a 50 m3 welding grade helium tank ? That's what it cost here ... not really a choice ... cheers, aldo aldo.solari@ho*.se* www.ccbb.ulpgc.es/fish-ecology/solaris ___ cytech@ma*.co*.cy* MM> Large steel deco tanks , wet suits and 18ltr on their MM> back , " you name it " regulators .... and the story MM> goes on and on .... -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
