Subject: Apeks, the Canadian experience?
I am planning on investing in two new regulators
and based on info from this list, the archives and
other sources it seems that Apeks is the product
of choice. Suposedly it provides high reliability,
simplistic design, ease of servicing, standardized
components, high performance and all at an economical
price.

Unfortunately I live near Ottawa (Canada) and only
have a few local dives local dives shops to consult, all
my other sources are US based. At the moment the Apeks
DS4/TX40 combo seems to be a very good choice for Canadian
conditions.

Ultimately I want to find out if the Canadian experience
with Apeks is as good as the US one? Things like
cost of servicing, availability of parts, honouring warrenty,
should I buy through a dive shop or go mail order, etc?

I doubt that Canadian experience isn't as good
as the US's, but if anybody has had any problems could
you let me know as well as any alternatives that may be
considered. I already know that the tech-list highly respects
ScubaPro regs, but is there anything wlse that is deemed as a
good buy from a Canadian perspective.

Thanx muchly,

Paul
