Hi Paul, I can vouch for the Canadian Experience, we have tried most of the decent Tech Regs on the market. Scubapro, Poseidon, Scubapro, Oceanic, Apex. I have tried Scubapro twice. Scubapro and Apex are very similar but Scubapro fail on one large account they are to commercial and they are always coming out with a new Reg at the same time quality is falling. I also live in new Ottawa (Kanata). I have converted over every Reg i own that is 8 and growing here is my config: Mains DS4s with TX50s I like the dial a breath you could also go with the TX40 if you want to keep it real simple. Than for stage tanks i use DST first stages with TX20 2nd stages. The swivel is excellent for routing on stage bottles. I also have a few US1s and UDTs for stages and Argon bottles. Always get the Enviro kit but if you can find a deal they can be put on later cheaply. We have compared the Apeks too the Oceanic and Scubapro in the ICE where the others would eventually free flowe the Apeks held strong. Needless to say i am converted and have become shameless. Apeks is the best by far. I deal with Dan Humble of Dive Tech in MalloryTown. It sounds like he is in Bum fuck nowhere, but he is 10 Min from the St. Lawrence R. and has the most stocked dive shop in Canada for Tech gear. Good Prices but the most important he is an excellent Tech especially with Apeks. Every other shop in Ottawa is a Stroke Shop. It is worth the drive.
