Simon, it's nice to hear about the Apekses since I dive them to, and like them a lot. However, getting out mk 10s O-ring is easier than you may think. I got a tool from my dentist which these used in pre- ultrasonic times to scratch away residues on your teeth. I sanded down the too sharp edges, and it does it's job perfectly. Scubapro piston's o- rings, schrader valves ones, everything. The important thing as well, of course, with Scubapro, is, to use the tools for inserting the new O-rings. However, my attitude towards servicing is, never change a winning team. So I do not service a reg which shows now sign of performance deterioration. This has - nothing- to do with lifetime warranty . The latter is just a joke. It is valid only in cases of decomposition of the reg's brass, or in case there is some antimateriae around. Well , the obvious faults of craftmansship, wrong assembly, and else, are dealt with in a normal warranty paper granted by law ( 6 month over here in Germany). After then there is no technically imaginable reason for a lifetime warranty to apply, at least not one which cannot easibly be denied by the manufacturer. best Matthias Simon L Hartley schrieb: > > Hi Matthias, > > At 09:24 9/11/2000 +0100, you wrote: > >couldn't the scrathc inside your MK 10 's body be honed away with a > >honing tool or a reamer, then , only in case diameter is too big, > >regalvanized ? > > Perhaps (although I'd guess it would be a tricky job if at all possible) > but I'd rather get a new first that's easier/cheaper for me to service. > The MK10 is bound to get scratched again, last time *I* replaced the piston > stem O-ring it took me about half an hour to dig it out (actually > eventually someone else got it out for me).
