I admit I have tried more or less liquid lubes as well. 
In general, some seem to drag a little bit of water through the seals,
others do not. I dunno what makes the difference. Does someone ?
I also used talc powder.
Some day , I wanted to spray my nose, because I felt some allergenic
stuff was around. 
Spray wouldn't work. Even not when applied repeatedly. But my nose began
to feel very dry , and somewhat weird.
Damn, I was spraying talc powder into it, with this white plastic
sprayer I filled the powder in before ( originally filled with nose
spray...
