Hi Paul, We just had a deep air fatality recently in the St Lawrence (Canada). The diver was very experienced and a safe diving advocate. He operated a charter. He was doing a wreck called the JB King. The wreckage goes down to 160', but it starts in 90'. Because of this, recreational divers do the wreck. It is considered a very advanced recreational dive, because of the depth and the current. I won't post any actual details since all my info is second hand, and I've heard a lot of conflicting stories. His name was Dave Cooper. There were posts on techdiver a couple months ago. Check the archieves. I don't know how accurate they are. ss -----Original Message----- From: Mike Rodriguez [mailto:mikey@ma*.co*] Sent: October 18, 2000 3:24 PM To: Paul Braunbehrens Cc: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Re: Pony's and deep air <snip> >and some references to actual fatalities brought >on by deep air (and I'm not talking 400 feet here, but people who >kicked the bucket doing what a rec. diver might do on a deep air >dive). I'll leave this one to someone else. Too morbid for me to go off and put together a list for ya. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
