If you want to learn how to cave dive, take instruction from a cave diver;  
if you want to learn how to ice dive, take instruction from an ice diver.  
Some of us have been known to do both, but they are two very different 
environments.  Find an instructor you trust, who actually does ice diving 
regularly for fun, and ask him to teach you.  Don't think you can learn from 
posts on this NG.
