Wendell, there is something about threatening ones air diving that is very
similar to telling somebody they have a drinking problem - they will defend
it to the hilt.

Nitrogen is obviously a very powerful and seductive drug. Why would
intelligent people otherwise want to believe they are "good on air" or think
they need to practice air diving, teach air diving or dive air at all?

The only other thing they really seem to get upset with me about is the DCS
preconditions, and the really stupid stuff they have painted themselves into
a corner on, like 80/20 and such.

We basically have out there a while legion of dive instructors who have
failed to warn their people about the real risks, told them bullshit, and
don't want to get caught. They must really hate my ass, and then there are
the Never Evers who hate me as well.

The thing about diving is that you must have all the information, and then
you must actually like it. Lacking either leads to the kind of insane
attacks you see these guy pull on me. They are either ignorant, scared, or
both ( usually both).
