That's pretty silly.  If everything you had was a different color, it 
would be much easier to locate just about any item.  If this color 
coding was standardized, it would probably increase safety.  Being 
able to locate a weight belt buckle, inflator, light etc. (on your 
buddy) by color would make it easier.

I don't think it's necessary, but it would definetely increase safety.
