As you know, with no He or N2 entering the system, it tends to exit in effectively higher concentrations. For example, with X amount leaving, and Y amount entering, there is only X-Y effectively leaving. Since argox allows Y to go to zero, more gas is effectively leaving. It does, however, allow the ongassing of Argon, which isn't very well studied (to my knowledge). Jim and Ann indicate that Sheck believed deeply in the benefits of this practice and that he introduced them to its use. Knowing Jim as I do, I belive him, also, since Ann says essentially the same thing, I trust her. I also think, in their case, at least, it was probably useful to an extent.
