I was toying with the idea of using E/O connectors with multi conductors. Say something like, three for the Positive side and three for the Negative. That most likely would prevent any temporary open circuits thus preventing lights off, and premature bulb failure. The multi pin connectors would cost a few more $$ but would be nothing compared to the rest of the system components. > >2) Anyone know anything about fuel cells? Could you make a scooter powered >by a fuel cell? Not quite available but on the near horizon. Probably by next year or two, they will be in Cellular phones and other Electronics. Mixtures of methanol & water are claimed to have more than three times the power to weight ratio of Lithium batteries. Like any new technology, don't expect these to be cost effective for the next several years, if that soon. Manhatten Scientifics claims they will offer a fuel cell in the near future that will have nearly an astonishing 700 Watts. The cell, configured as, and contained within a 2 liter hydrogen bottle with 200 bar pressure. The cell is said to weigh less than a kg. Talk about power to weight ratio! Manhatten also claims the cell will power an electric bicycle at speeds near 20 miles per hour with a 60 mile range. Put these in scooters,,,,Hummmm I'm sure it will come once they have them, uh, er, "Nearly" perfected. Yes I'm sure they will have the ability to go boom too. Imagine, Hydrogen powered fins.... I have the room for 56 amps @ 24 VDC battery capacity, so it can stand to have a bit more current draw. It currently runs as fast as my pretty fast Mako, I'd just like to get a few more feet per minute out of it. Anyone with any suggestions?
