That puzzled me too.  I then went to the archives and
read about the evolution of deco in WKPP.  JJ didn't
make these decisions on a whim.

By the way, telling people to go to the archives is
quite routine here.  I highly recommend it since I've
stumbled across some amazing information while looking
for other things.

I suggest you do the same ... unless, of course you
actually don't want to know and really just want a
flame war.

Note in particular what happens at the surface (which
_is_ a deco stop) and the resolution of gas purity
