Anticipate your buoyancy needs and inflate accordingly. If you get a sticky inflator, you don't want rapid inflation, you want as much time as possible to deal with the situation. I clean mine about once a year or longer for dry suits. If it is not crisp in operation then it would benefit from a service which is quick and easy to do.
