JT:

Actually we stage a backup AL80 of oxygen at the 20' stop and a backup AL80
of 50/50 at the 70' stop. Neither of which we've ever had to use, much less
ever need to send someone up for more gas. What kind of crazy stuff are you
guys doing? If my 70' bottle croaks on me and I can't get the gas (highly
unlikely in the extreme) or I lose the bottle, AND I can't get to the backup
bottle hanging on the line, AND I can't share with a buddy, then I just pull
out my backup deco schedule and work my way up to the 20' stop on bottom
gas.

But then we are talking about 4 or 5 friends diving off my own boat as a
TEAM and not some randomly staged cluster of divers on a charterboat. The
more I hear about this stuff the more I'm glad to be doing this stuff with
just my friends on our own rather than joining in on some of the clusters I
hear about on charter boats off the east coast. But then what do I know.
The only charterboat I've been on in the US was the Starfire in Puget Sound
and they just do recreational stuff.
