Powder coating does not necessarily provide a water tight seal on the outside of the item that is coated and so water can enter between the tank and the coating and spread by capillary action, this would eat through the tank in quick time, sadly. Something more like an ionic deposition process would be good but too expensive and not abrasion resistant. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jan-Christian von Kamp <j.vonkamp@ec*.de*> To: <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Thursday, August 10, 2000 12:58 PM Subject: RE: ScubaPro Faber Tanks-Paint Bubbles and Rust Hi all! How about powder coating tanks? Rgds, Jan >>> "David B. Widen" <dwiden@ho*.co*> 07.08.2000 17.00 Uhr >>> Scott That point is now well established. I suspect that there will fewer boots in the Mid-Atlantic/VB area after this. Anything constructive to repair and correction part of this equation?
