The point that everyone has to keep in mind is that we do not know what killed him. Whilst the listmembers here are of the opinion that his "state of the art" kit is the cause of this very sad and unfortunate incident in reality it could be one of several unconnected physiological conditions such as a heart attack, cerebral haemorrhage etc. Victims of various seizures are not going to behave in a logical "Techdiver/DIR/DIW" approved sort of way, sadly they are going to fight to get to the surface with or without kit should they remain distressed but conscious. Whilst it is always interesting to speculate regarding engineering failure, the fact remains that a man has died doing what he, and we, all love. We can speculate all we like, we can insult kit configurations, deny that anyone who died was of our creed because those who follow our path cannot die and are therefore disowned at the point of death. What does not change is that until the inquest is carried out, we are merely speculating in the same way that there are a thousand rumours and opinions about rebreathers and little hard fact proven in open court. I just hope that one day we will all learn enough from the experiences of others and ourselves that this type of thing become a memory from "the bad old days" ----- Original Message ----- From: Mcinnis, Don <Don.Mcinnis@in*.co*> To: 'Christian Gerzner' <christiang@pi*.co*.au*>; 'David Applin' <David.Applin@ta*.co*> Cc: <Jsuw@ao*.co*>; <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Friday, August 04, 2000 2:27 PM Subject: RE: Diving the San Diego > This post was about ATTITUDE and GEAR CHOICE only.
