Whales killed by the bends probably sink into oblivion, so all we really 
know is that the whales seen who act apparently normally don't have the 
bends.

Many apparently knowledgeable arguments exist on all sides of the 
question about why whales don't get the bends, but nobody's ever 
interviewed, in human-understandable language, a whale that has experienced 
DCS.

In short, the question is little more than an invitation to public 
intellectual onanism.
