I can say that I am happy and dive in 4 deg C water with my US4s. (Happy but sometimes cold!) In Europe, the regulator design undergoes certain tests to get an EC approval, and these are valid down to 10 Deg C. I don't know if this also applies to the DS4. In summary you'll be happy with either US4 or DS4. I would still buy the US4. This leaves the isolator area and place where the convoluted hose enters the wing cleaner.
