Hmmm... "...but that all changed when I started posting things he didn't like hearing, especially from a physician with diving medical knowledge." I wonder which physician with diving medical knowledge he's referring to. I wasn't aware Black knew anyone with diving medical knowledge. Maybe Black has a friend who's a doctor, too. MD? Mike, WOW - did I touch a nerve or something or are we just in a sensitive mood? Your reply interests me: As for posting my own introduction to the list I am afraid my credentials pale into insignificance in the light of your apparent vast medical and diving knowledge, my diving skills are simply recreationally based but hoping to improve and grow into more technical wreck type stuff. As for my medical skill, I have a friend who is a doctor - "Does that count". As for George - if this is George Irvine you are talking about, I am sorry, I don't know him personally at all - BUT - as we say in my home country of Ireland, "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". From what I have read and heard from a variety of sources George seems to be a person who has not only eaten the cake but baked it as well, in fact he may have even introduced some new ingredients. Have a safe dive this evening, you have satisfied my curiosity and my opinion of you remains unchanged. Paul -----Original Message----- From: Michael J. I'll have to look for yours, sometime. As you will post this yourself, I won't bother. You see Paul, once upon a time, George liked me and wanted to see an M.D. on the techdiver list (I may still have his post filed away), but that all changed when I started posting things he didn't like hearing, especially from a physician with diving medical knowledge. Things like adaptation to nitrogen narcosis, or dysbaric osteonecrosis in old knee injuries (how's that knee George?), or my corrections to the know-it-alls who emphatically stated Lasik eye surgery doesn't require a knife, or anabolic steroids are used to treat lung injuries. It became painfully obvious that too many regulars on techdiver, including George himself, were F.O.S. It was obvious to me as a physician, but also as a diver, and that just didn't sit well with the DIR gods, so I was cast out and told to S.T.F.U. I really don't mind being a cast-out, as I feel I'm in rather distinguished company. I even get occasional praises from long-departed whipping boys whose names I won't mention. And lastly, as I've said before, I've gotta admit that kicking this hornet's nest can be a scream, watching the DIR fools writhe in their own idiocy. As for my diving credentials, they've been posted too, but let's just say I dive alot (over twenty years, and 1000 logged dives in the last ten) and in fact, I'm going diving tonight after work.
