Well, I think that the only physicians that should be prescribing MAOI's are people with specific training in their use. In my particular subspecialty of Neurology, we use a variety of medications for their unique effects on cerebral physiology. Other than that, only psychiatrists are using things things anyomore. Most of the major diving certification agencies would agree with you vis-a vis MAOI's. I'm more of the philosophy that decisions like that need to be individualized by diving physicians who can take all of the factors into account.
