Ralph,

The venturi effect in the second stage is directed at the back of
the hp diaphragm, and does boost the intermediate pressure.

Thus, there are 2 first stages that appear identical to the naked eye,
one for the Odin (part #162962) and a different one for the Cyklon 5000
part #163257). Amazingly, there is a significant price difference between
the two first stages, with the Cyklon first stage going for about $60 more
wholesale than the Odin first stage.
